Your Story Can Rise or Fall on Your Villain
Your villain is the driving force of your story. Conflict creates story, and it's your villain that creates conflict. The stronger the villain, the stronger your conflict and story. But a weak villain? That can lead to bored readers.
Who is this Course for?
This course is designed for writers who want to improve their novel's villain, or create a strong villain from scratch. Your villain is one of the most important characters in your story, second only to your hero. He (or she!) is also often the most difficult character to get right.
Is your villain...
Then you're in the right place! In this course, I'm going to show you how to create a realistic, fully developed villain that will give your hero a run for his money and strike fear and loathing into the hearts of your readers.
What Will I Learn?
What Can I Expect?
This course includes 8 video lessons, which break the process of creating a strong villain into easy to digest steps. It is designed to help you 1) understand the concepts by using examples from films and novels, and 2) apply what you learn directly to your own story. Because what good are techniques you understand but don't know how to use? The goal of this course isn't simply to give you information, but to help you produce results (i.e. a new-and-improved villain!).
Here's what's included:
This course is also self-paced, which means you don't have to be online at a specific time and can move at whatever pace works for your learning style and schedule!
Kaitlin holds an Interdisciplinary BA in Creative Writing & History and has 10 years of experience writing and studying novels. Before deciding to teach creative writing online, she studied for almost 4 years as an English teacher. But she discovered she was far more passionate about the art of storytelling than proper grammar, so she set out to help other writers create brilliant novels.
